Mary Thompson appointed NFCA
State of Iowa Representative.
The position connects Iowa to the National Organization so that we
can keep up with what the rest of the country is doing. We
will be having a membership drive and regular meetings about
softball and what the NFCA can do for Iowa. If anyone is
interested in becoming involved with this Iowa movement please call

Junior Olympic Deputy Commissioner The position allows me to get
involved more on the local level. Creating tournaments and
opportunities with the Iowa ASA staff. I played ASA softball
when I was young and want to support the growth of ASA
softball in Iowa and Nationally.

Anyone in the 18U division and 14U
division that wants to tryout for a Fall Showcase team can come
to practice this Sunday at Hoover HS at 2pm to 6pm. We are
looking to fill one 18U team and one 16U team for Grinnell Labor
Day weekend and possibly to keep on for the Fall Showcase
Tourneys. We will decide on a schedule for practice for
Aug. 17-29 at the time and post it for anyone interested in
coming out.
To help softball players (8th -12th grade)
achieve their goals. Do you want to play in College?
There are many opportunities for girls in this great sport of
softball.
Parents and players just need information to help them make decisions so that
they can
establish a plan to help their girls get the most out of their experience.
Their are hundreds of college softball scholarships
and aid available
to young players at different levels such as Div. I, Div. II, Div II, NAIA.
There is the possibility of playing on a USA National
Team or the Olympic Team. This
past
year the Women's Professional League
re-organized and is bigger and more popular than ever. Even after your playing
days are over, you have opportunities to earn a living doing what you love to do
as a coach.
So we are here to help educate you on the possibilities.
This is not at all in competition with the Iowa High School Summer
Program. We totally support that system and are just trying to provide
opportunities to players after their High School season/obligations are
completed.
